Keep bees
at home.

Bring a healthy colony to your property with as much — or as little — beekeeping support as you want. Start with a nuc, purchase a complete hive, or ask Old Fort Honey Co. to help manage the colony for you.

A hive of your own

You don’t have to do it all yourself.

A hive at home can be a rewarding way to support pollinators, learn about bees and — when the colony has a genuine surplus — enjoy honey produced around your own property.

Old Fort Honey Co. can supply locally managed colonies for suitable properties across Antigua. We can simply provide the bees, or stay involved with inspections, colony management and harvest assistance.

Every placement starts with the same principle that guides our own apiaries: the bees come first. A strong, well-sited colony matters more than chasing a honey crop.

Choose your level of support

From first colony to fully supported hive.

Whether you want to learn beekeeping yourself or prefer us to handle the regular management, we can build the arrangement around your property and your level of involvement.

01

Start with a Nuc

A small established nucleus colony for someone who already has suitable hive equipment and wants to grow and manage the colony themselves.

  • Established colony
  • Laying queen
  • Brood and food stores
  • Basic transfer and establishment guidance
Best for hands-on beekeepers
02

Complete Hive

A complete hive and colony ready to establish at a suitable property, without the need to source the bees and equipment separately.

  • Complete hive equipment
  • Established colony and queen
  • Site and placement guidance
  • Installation and initial advice
Best for a ready-to-go start
03

Managed Hive

Own the hive and the bees while Old Fort Honey Co. provides ongoing support. Join the inspections and learn, or leave the regular management to us.

  • Routine colony inspections
  • Queen, brood and health checks
  • Feeding and space management when needed
  • Swarm management
  • Honey harvest and extraction assistance
Best for supported home beekeeping

How it works

A straightforward path to your own hive.

Colonies are living livestock, so timing depends on colony strength and availability. We do not rush splits simply to fill an order.

01

Tell us about the property

Send your location and a few photographs of the area you have in mind.

02

Choose the setup

Nuc, complete hive or a hive with ongoing management support.

03

Site & establish

We help choose the position and establish the colony when bees are available.

04

Manage & harvest

Take over yourself or arrange ongoing visits and harvest assistance.

Honey from home

A harvest with a genuine sense of place.

If the colony becomes strong enough to produce surplus honey, that harvest reflects the flowers, trees, gardens and seasonal conditions around your own part of Antigua.
